(Plus $50 Off & Complimentary Shipping)

vast, alien landscapes... The thin blue sky... miles of dry desert plains... Today, we're bringing wines from the legendary vineyards of the Calchaquí Valley to you!

A note from Bonner Private Wine Partnership founder, Will Bonner:

Today, I’d like to extend to you a special invitation to try our 2023 Extreme Altitude Calchaquí Valley Collection

It’s been almost three years since we launched the Bonner Private Wine Partnership with a single shipping container packed with wines from the foothills of the Andes mountains.

The stars of the show then were two malbecs from the extreme altitude Calchaquí Valley – our own Tacana (from the Bonner family ranch at Gualfin) and Sunal Ilógico (from an even higher vineyard at Luracatao several hours up the valley).

Today, we return to this vast frontier where, as the Wall Street Journal described it in 2019, “condors fly above giant cactuses...ancient rock formations vie for attention with Indian ruins...[and where they make] critically acclaimed wines that are largely unavailable outside of the country.”

You will find no Mendoza or Famatina in this collection, but extreme altitude Calchaquí Valley wines only, ranging from over 6,000 ft. to almost 9,000 ft., and some of the most isolated vineyards in the world.

Currently, we have limited number of these collections available after accounting for over 2,000 current members.

And today, I’d like to offer you to the head of the line to get access to this one-of-a-kind collection.

Something to keep in mind: We’re not some wine club that specializes in cheap bulk wines dressed up with a “cool” label. We don’t bombard our members with dead, underwhelming wines until they cancel.

We send out wines only 4 times a year... and we ensure they will be the most alive, interesting, and delicious wines you will drink.

Is it a good deal? Well, how does less than the cost of your daily coffee sound?

And how about backing that up with a guarantee that you will love these wines? (You don’t even have to send back the wines.)

Remember, we only have limited number of collections left to claim, so don’t wait to get yours.

Once all of them are claimed, this offer will close.

Simply scroll down to view the entire collection in more detail.

Cheers,

Will Bonner

What's Included In This One-oF-A-Kind Collection...

Your Bottle of Valle Arriba La Criollita 2020 (6,561 ft.)

In the far north of the Calchaquí Valley, between 6,500 and almost 10,000 feet above sea level, are several micro-valleys, known locally as Valle Arriba. Since 2007, the Bodega Valle Arriba team has been studying each corner of this region, seeking to convey the exclusivity and originality of the Calchaquí Valley landscape through small batches vinified by Raúl Dávalos, sixth-generation wine-maker of Salta (and the man behind Partnership favorites Mayuco, RD, Unoak, and Doña Ascensión).

“La Criollita” celebrates the criolla chica grape, which is historically very important in Argentina; it was the first grape that Spanish mission priests planted in the country, and has been growing in Salta since the 16th century. Over the centuries abandoned plots went feral and spun off hybrids innumerable. Thus criolla has become a catch-all term for “we don’t know what it is or who planted it but it’s been here longer than we have.” Criolla chica tends to make lighter wines, so it was an interesting challenge for Raúl to create something fine, complex, and ageworthy.

Your Bottle of Sierra Lima Alfa Blend de Malbec 2020 (94 Pts)

Sierra Lima Alfa is the personal project of Francisco “Pancho” Morelli Rubio, part of the sixth generation of winemakers in the family behind Tacuil, the famous Molinos winery helmed by his cousin (and longtime Partnership collaborator) Raúl Dávalos.

Pancho had been working in the family business for more than ten years when, in 2014, he decided to create Sierra Lima Alfa, with the intention to offer a deeply personal interpretation of the wines of the Calchaquí Valleys. Of this 2020 malbec blend, 65% comes from Molinos, at 8,530 feet of elevation, and 35% comes from Angastaco, at 7,875 feet. Each year the proportions change based on the quality of the harvest. 93 points (Atkin). 94 points (Descorchados).

Your Bottle of Mugrón Winemakers’ Blend 2020 (7,454 ft.)

This venture was born from the friendship of 4 winemakers working in the Calchaquí Valleys: Rafael Domingo, Claudio Maza, Mariano Quiroga, and Paco Puga. One year, they decided to make a special wine, a testament to their friendship, just to share with their families and friends. This wine is made in four parts: each winemaker makes his part separately, choosing the best variety, or a co-fermentation of the best grapes, of the year. Then they all meet and make the blend of their contributions. This wine changes every year, since each winemaker chooses what to surprise his colleagues with.

Find black fruit, spice, and desert herbs in the nose. Great structure in the mouth.

Your Bottle of El Viticultor Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (5,900 ft.)

Daniel Guillén is viticulturist, winemaker, and owner of El Viticultor. Daniel is one of those rare winemakers who believes that if you put the effort into the vineyard, the best thing you can do in the winery is get out of the way. His academic background as an agricultural engineer—15 harvests farming grapes—leads him to focus most of his efforts on the vineyard, so that in the cellar only minimal intervention is necessary.

In our 2022 Argentina collection, we sourced his malbec-cab blend. We had actually tried to source the cab sauv that year, but Daniel’s style of winemaking doesn’t lend itself to massive quantity. Lesson learned. For the 2023 collection we placed the order way in advance.

Your Bottle of Bad Brothers Facón Selection Cabernet Franc 2020 (5,577 ft.)

Don’t let the name “Bad Brothers” throw you. This is, indeed, an Argentine wine. The winemaker is extreme altitude master Agustín Lanús (of Sunal, among others). “Facón” refers to the large knife, also called a cuchillo, carried by Argentina’s legendary cowboy, the gaucho. As he wandered the high plains, often alone, the gaucho had little in life to truly count on. The exceptions were his horse, his poncho, and his facón. It was no six gun, perhaps, but in the right hands a facón was no less feared. Charles Darwin apparently saw a good amount of blood let by the facón during his voyage on the Beagle, later writing: “many quarrels arose, which from the general manner of fighting with the knife often proved fatal.”

All this to say that Agustín’s Facón 2020 has a lot to live up to. And that’s probably why he chose cab franc, a dagger of a grape if ever there were one. Only 4,000 bottles made.

Your Bottle of Inimaginable 2020 (6,500 ft)

Winemaker Claudio Maza loves a challenge: terroirs so inhospitable that planting wine grapes there should be “unimaginable.” As you can imagine, the Calchaquí has plenty of contenders for that title. Claudio found his own plot of hell in a small canyon to the south of Cafayate. Even by Calchaquí standards, the place is snakebit. Four early Spanish attempts to build missions there ended in disaster at the hands of local tribes. The Jesuits briefly succeeded in the 1600s, only to see their mission destroyed in the Calchaquí Wars.

Working with family growers in the far reaches of this harsh region, Claudio crafts unique & honest reflections of its beautiful and varied terroir. In Inimaginable, the high altitude malbec “plum” note sings loud and clear, accompanied here by fresh herbs. Intense in the mouth yet fresh and with a slightly toasted taste (from the oak).

Says Claudio, “It is very special to be able to discover within the Calchaquí Valley small producers from unique places that produce grapes in an incredible way”.

6 Bottles of Dark Red Wines...

From the world's most remote wine region...

Shipped (free) Right To Your Doorstep...

You might assume these bottles are expensive...

Not at all... for the simple reason that we don’t pay retail... and neither will you.

Americans have been trained to think that a good wine must be more expensive.

But that’s simply not the case.

Let’s say a bottle costs $100... how much of that $100 is actually paying the wine?

About $20. That’s it.

The rest? Marketing costs and the dreaded “3-tier system”... a legal framework left over from Prohibition that basically guarantees three levels of mark-up (not including taxes) on any bottle you buy in the US.

I’m able to bypass that system.. it’s one of the many perks I enjoy as head of America’s only wine partnership, called The Bonner Private Wine Partnership.

We’re a private group of wine lovers who source seldom-imported foreign wines directly... without the usual middlemen, bad wine, or inflated pricing.

All year round, Diego, Barry, and me scour the globe for great wine, making deals directly with vineyards... mostly small batch places just like these Calchaquí Valley wines...

And that brings me to the wines I’d like to send to your doorstep today PLUS a couple bonuses that won't disappoint!

While you wait for your collection, you’ll receive two special, exclusive e-books, written especially for club members by top international sommelier, Nigel Tollerman.

Nigel is a certified sommelier from Argentina’s top Escuela Argentina de Sommeliers. He has appeared on the Food Network and National Geographic.

I think you’ll find these e-books both fun to read and highly educating...

As a fellow wine adventurer, they’re yours FREE to read and access the instant you sign up...

You’ll also receive a tasting video with veteran Bordeaux winemaker Julien Miquel.

Julien has made wines all over the world, including at Chateau Margaux, perhaps the most famous winery in France.

He’ll take you through a virtual tasting for three of your wines making you an expert in Argentine wine by the time your bottles arrive.

Okay, so how much is a quarterly membership to the Bonner Private Wine Partnership going to cost?

Well, as I said earlier, a single case of Calchaquí wine goes for $450... and they sell out an entire vintage in less than 24 hours...

And I’ve seen bottles of a certain high-altitude wine being sold for as much as $598 for a single bottle (that would be over $3,000 for a collection of six!)...

(which is crazy because that certain wine actually has lower point scores than other bottles included in your collection)

But you won’t spend several thousand dollars here... you won’t pay $450... or even $300...

You’ll pay just $199 for your first quarter with the club (shipping is on us!)

Your 100% Satisfaction Guarantee

(and no, you don’t have to send back the wine)

If any wine fails to impress, we’ll credit that bottle.

And you don’t even have to send any bottles back.

Yes, you could drink every single bottle and ask for a replacement There’s no way we’d be able to tell.

But we’re confident that you’ll love what you get and want to stick around for more!

After your $199 introductory shipment, subsequent shipments will be billed at our normal fee of $249... but there is NO obligation. We will let you know when your bottles are ready to ship and you can cancel at any time!

So...interested in sampling great wine at zero risk?

Well if you’re still reading, I’m going to take a wild guess that the answer is “YES!”
